Xsensus is seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Technical Advisor to draft patent applications, respond to office actions and analyze technical documents needed for the patent application process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting patent applications: Create detailed written descriptions, specifications and claims for new inventions.
- Prosecuting patents: File applications with the USPTO and draft responses to office actions domestically and internationally.
- Collaborating with inventors: Work directly with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand innovations.
- Staying updated: Keep current on patent law developments and technical advancements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or a related discipline). Advanced degrees are a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in preparation and/or prosecution of patent applications in a law firm.
- USPTO registration preferred; not required for Technical Advisory role.
- Bilingual in Chinese or Japanese a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and self-motivated mindset with the ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines.
