Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist – US Remote Work Opportunity

Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurately maintain and update the deadlines and bibliographic data for patent and trademark matters in the IP docketing system;
  • Review and process incoming correspondence from the USPTO, clients, and foreign associates, extracting and docketing relevant deadlines and information;
  • Review PTO submissions and correspondence, ensuring deadlines are de-docketed and that records are in good order;
  • Conduct regular audits of the docketing system to identify and correct errors, ensuring accuracy and consistency;
  • Assist with running conflict checks and opening new matters as needed;
  • Assist with intakes or transfers as needed; and
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred; or (1) one to (3) three years of experience in docketing or combined docketing and IP Paralegal support in U.S, Foreign and International patent prosecution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US patent prosecution rules and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and prioritization skills to allow switching from one area of responsibility to another while maintaining quality and focus in a rapidly growing firm.
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking combined with the ability to work in a team or independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact professionally with all members of staff and clients.
  • Experience with CPI (docketing management system) is preferred but not required.

Salary Range: $65-85k
